Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical-Lifting Equipment)

Reports To: Head of Maintenance
Direct Reports: Maintenance Supervisor, Technician.
Job Summary and Purpose
Develop, execute, and monitor operation and maintenance activities for mechanical and heavy equipment, including lifting, mobile and structural systems, ensuring asset reliability, safety compliance and execution to high-quality and auditable standards in line with the company's integrated management systems and policies.
Accountabilities
- Maintain Mechanical and Heavy Equipment, including but not limited to jib cranes, overhead cranes, mobile cranes and associated lifting systems.
- Maintain mobile and mechanical machinery such as forklifts, cherry pickers, winches and similar heavy equipment.
- Maintain structural systems related to lifting and heavy equipment, including access towers, lifting gears and supporting structures.
- Ensure proper functioning of mechanical, electrical, electronic and communication components of the equipment.
- Prepare and manage all spare parts required for the maintenance of equipment and related assets.
- Assist the Head of Maintenance in the preparation and implementation of maintenance strategies to reduce equipment failure rates and improve maintenance KPIs.
- Prepare Root Cause Analysis (RCA) reports and provide proposals to prevent repeat failures and ensure lessons learned are implemented.

8. Prepare scopes of work and tender documentation for subcontracted maintenance activities.
9. Supervise subcontractors and ensure compliance with approved scopes of work, quality and safety requirements.
10. Lead and supervise maintenance supervisors and technicians assigned to mechanical and heavy equipment maintenance activities.
11. Prepare risk assessments and apply for required work permits prior to execution of maintenance activities.
12. Maintain accurate and up-to-date maintenance records in accordance with company procedures.
13. Coordinate with relevant authorities, OEMs and stakeholders to obtain approvals for changes, repairs or modifications to equipment and structures.
14. Communicate upwards on training needs, equipment performance issues and process improvement opportunities, and follow up on implementation.
15. Schedule and prioritize maintenance activities considering operational requirements and available resources.
16. Demonstrate work behaviors consistent with company values and comply with company policies, standards, procedures and applicable legislative requirements.

Qualifications:

- Engineering Degree in Mechanical
Experience:
-
- 5 years of relevant experience as a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, HVAC Maintenance Engineer or equivalent.
