The National Development Program (NDP)

Under the National Development Program (NDP), each ‘Developee’ is provide with a comprehensive Individual Development Plan (IDP), structured into distinct development phases, that prepares them to take up a Senior Staff role within 2 years. Since the IDP is performance-based, and not time-based, the drive and ambition of some Developees enable them to be placed in their target position in a much shorter time frame. 

During the program, each Developee is provided with:

  • a ‘home’ department that is responsible for providing relevant on-the-job learning opportunities
  • ongoing coaching and mentoring
  • Performance-based feedback and ratings by the coaches and mentors so that Developees are aware of areas they require improve in and those they have mastered
