Job Summary and Purpose
Manage and handle all tax services related activities for Nakilat and its joint venture companies and ensure meeting all local and International tax requirements. As well as stay abreast with the latest local and international tax requirements for compliance purposes. 


Accountabilities

Key Accountabilities:

Local and International Tax Compliance:  

1. Independently Manage and handle all tax related activities and ensue full compliance with the local and International tax requirements for Nakilat and its joint ventures. 
2. Ensure accurate and timely reviews and processing of VAT returns and refund, withholding Tax, and Tax filing with Qatar General Tax Authority through their web site, or the manual submission as per the applicable regulations. 
3. Communicate the value added tax requirements to the organization and keep the organization up to date on changes in tax legislations.
4. Ensure timely submissions of the required reports to the Tax Authorities as per the Qatar Tax Authorities Executive Regulation Rules
5. Prepare and file the annual corporate Income tax returns and various statements and forms for Nakilat and its joint ventures, and as required per the applicable tax laws.
6. Complete notification and filling of CBCR, Transfer Pricing, Master Filing, Local filing, Economical Substance filing followed by each jurisdiction’s regulation.  
7. Communicate tax planning, goals, risks, and priorities to senior management, and as required. 
8. Research and thoroughly monitor OECD’s global Tax announcements and anticipate its impact on Nakilat’s Business and identify and agree on the appropriate actions.   
9. Drive and implement timely changes required as a result of the changes to tax legislation by Tax Authorities. 
10. Review the various Tax Forms for Nakilat local and international Joint Ventures, subsidiaries etc.
11. Recognize, anticipate, and resolve local and international tax issues; and provide recommendations to management as applicable.
12. Monitor and keep the organization abreast with the latest tax related changes/developments and ensure compliance with local and International rules and regulations.
13. Prepare and submit responses to notices and queries received from the Tax Department and follow up to ensure timely responses are received from tax jurisdictions.
14. Provide appropriate Tax advice to respective functions, as and when required for any local/international tax compliances or enquiries. 
15. Lead the company related appeal proceedings and tax litigation support.
16. Manage the company Tax matters, returns, tax assessments, tax provisions, Budget etc.

Utilization of ERP:
17. Ensure the proper utilizing of the company ERP system for recording related tax transactions and reports. 
18. Analyze and identify the function’s automation and digitalization requirements, as well as, lead the design and implementation of these requirements with the other concerned parties, such as IT.

19. Ensure compliance to all relevant SHEQ policies, procedures and controls across the function, to ensure that NAKILAT provides a safe, world class, secure and environmentally responsible service to customers, the public and its own people.

Budgets and Plans:
20. Contribute to the development of the function’s budget, through setting the budget, and monitoring its expenditure, while ensuring the optimal utilization of all available resources to protect NAKILAT interest. 

Systems and Processes:

21. Participate in developing the Tax policies, procedures and system, and ensure their proper implementation to support achieving the different set targets and plans, hence NAKILAT strategy.

22. Carry out any other duties as directed by the Chief Financial Officer.

Interactions and Working Relationships
Internal:
• Senior Management (Chiefs & Managers) – to provide advice and assistance on Tax matters related to Local and International Tax. 
• Internal Auditors – to discuss compliance with international standards, rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
• Interaction with General accounting, Financial reporting and Supply Department – For tax related matters.

External:
• Subsidiary organizations and joint venture partnerships – to clarify and resolve tax related issues
• External Auditors - to provide financial performance overview of operations and other relevant financial material for audit purposes
• Tax Authorities - For advice, and clarifications about requirements. 


Qualifications, Experience and Skills
Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or any related field  
• Master’s Degree or specialized certificates are preferred

Experience:
• A minimum of 8 – 10 years’ experience in a similar role. 

Job Specific Skills:
• Advanced knowledge of Local and International Tax regulations and requirements
• Advanced knowledge of SAP related modules.
