Eligible Qataris whom successfully graduate in relevant maritime studies are sought after for employment at Nakilat. For Nationals whom do not hold a maritime qualification, Nakilat sponsors eligible Secondary School graduates for its Marine Cadet Program (MCP), with the objective of training and developing these individuals for subsequent employment with Nakilat upon graduation.

• a three to a four-year study program in either Nautical Studies or Marine Engineering
• each study program at a Nakilat-approved academy or training center will alternate between periods at college and at sea
• after successful completion of the Marine Cadetship, Cadets may transfer to Junior Deck Officers or Junior Engineer Officers (Electrical Officer is considered as a Junior Engineer Officer)
