Job Title: Production Engineer - Piping
Reports To: Operation Engineering Manager
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Prepare Fab ISO insurance plan.
- Issues spool fabrication forecast based on drawing and material ETA.
- Workouts the project specific tools and equipment required for execution of activities like hydrotesting, flange management. Check inventory and initiate procurement where required.
- Study and prepare test packs for piping system testing and co-ordinate with site team for completion of all stagewise activities and checklist signing.
- Understands vendor recommendation in handling installation and assembly of special items like Valves, Actuators, Hubs, Clamps etc. Ensures the yard team understands the same. Issues method statement and procedure to manage such work.
- Assist Yard Superintendent and Supervisors to identify training of personnel to execute work.
- Leads resolution of site clashes and proximity issues arising at construction stage.
- Review drawings for constructability.
- Leads effort for system completion and handover. Tracks completion and submission of checklist and ITR’s.
- Initiates RFQ, Carries our TBE and coordinates valve testing with subcontractor.
- Understands the full contractual scope of work, contract type and milestone schedules.
- Participates in development of project fabrication execution plan to meet contract requirements most productively.
- Develops a work pack index and sets priorities and ROS dates for deliverables.
- Prepare project specific task listing.
- At commencement of the project participate in fabrication kick-off meeting.
- Forecast fabrication requirements (deliverable inputs) to meet the project contract schedule.
- Coordinates with MTO, warehouse, drafting teams to issue work packs.
- Review and understand manhour estimate. Ensure estimates are correct. Provide feedback to the estimation department where required.
- Issues work packs and follows up all activities for work pack execution.
- Carries out progress reporting on the project.
- Reviews weekly fabrication progress reports for progress and productivity. Acts on anomalies.
- Reviews input deliverable forecast dates (material & drawings) and advises impact to fabrication schedule.
- Appraises Senior Production Engineer or Fabrication Operations Engineer of any project issues which affect the forecasted progress, productivity, and schedule commitments.
- Prepare technical queries/correspondence to be issued to the client.
- Provides field guidance to meet project specifications, schedule, and targets.
- Participates and provides feedback on regular sites and look ahead meetings.
- Coordinates with subcontractors for completion of work.
- Raises variance orders to capture extra works not part of AFC estimates.
- Identify items requiring support from the construction engineering team. Coordinates and follows up to get required input.
- Prepares project fabrication lessons learnt.
Education Qualification and Experience
Education: Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical, Structural Engineering or equivalent
Experience:
- 04+ years of experience in Offshore and Petrochemical Industry or equivalent.
- Preferably worked as Engineer in executing Construction projects.
