Job Summary and Purpose
Lead the integration of digital technology into all areas of Nakilat’s shipyard operations. Revolutionize the company’s shipyard processes and systems, ensuring that Nakilat stays ahead in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.
Accountabilities
Digital Strategy Development
1. Formulate and implement a comprehensive digital strategy tailored to the shipyard’s operational needs and goals.
2. Continuously evaluate and improve digital strategies to keep pace with technological advancements and industry trends.
Technology Integration
3. Oversee the integration of digital technologies into various shipyard processes, including design, manufacturing, and logistics.
Innovation Leadership
4. Lead and inspire teams to embrace new technologies and digital practices.
5. Develop training programs to upskill employees in digital competencies relevant to shipyard operations.
6. Manage the performance and ensure development of the digital transformation team.
Data and Project Management
7. Ensure the effective collection, analysis, and utilization of data to enhance operational efficiency and decision-making.
8. Manage digital transformation projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
Stakeholder Collaboration
9. Work closely with various departments, vendors, and partners to align digital transformation initiatives with business objectives.

10. Contribute to managing change in own team by providing inputs for and taking part in change initiatives, programmes and projects that are aligned with the best practice.
11. Contribute to departments’ Management of change by providing Information and communication services that can enhance the shipyard’s business automations.

12. Adhere to all relevant SHEQ policies, procedures, instructions, and controls so that Shipyard provides a safe, world class, secure and environmentally responsible service to customers, the public and its own people.

13. Follow all relevant departmental policies, processes, and procedures so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
Others:
14. Carry out any other related duties as directed by IT Manager to support the IT initiatives and projects.

Interactions and Working Relations
Internal:
• Coordination with Shipyard Management – for IT requirements and needs.
External:
• Shipyard joint ventures including Qatar Shipyrard Technology Solutions, QFAB, NAC and NSW for IT requirements and needs
• External Vendors – for implementing solutions for the organization.
• External Partners – Operators and charters needs in technology.
• Government & Semi Government entities as required.
Qualifications, Experience and Job Skills
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Master’s degree in information Technology/ Computer Science would be an added advantage.
Experience:
• 8 – 10 years’ experience in digital roles, with specific experience in the shipyard or maritime industry.
Job Specific Skills:
• Strong knowledge of digital technologies, including IoT, AI, robotics, and cloud computing, as they apply to shipyard operations.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams in a technology-driven environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying complex digital concepts to a non-technical audience.
• Proven track record in managing large-scale digital transformation projects.
