Job Summary and Purpose
The Senior Maintenance Engineer leverages deep understanding of maintenance strategies in order to contribute to day-to-day operational maintenance expertise and leadership and supports the Head of Maintenance in monitoring and implementing the strategies for managing the shipyards assets throughout their lifecycle. All works is executed to a high quality & auditable standard that is consistent with the companies integrated management systems and policies. As a senior officer, a high level of technical skill and experience is demanded and is expected to be demonstrably applied to technical problems and monitoring of trades employees.
Accountabilities
Key Accountabilities:
1) Develops a deep understanding of the yard specific maintenance strategy and supports the Head of Maintenance in breaking strategy down into short to medium time horizon work plans and tactics. Supports the implementation of all aspect of the Maintenance Strategy.
2) Operate and maintain all Substations (High Voltage (HV), Medium Voltage (MV), Low Voltage (LV)) and external electrical systems.
3) Operate and maintain site-wide Electrical Low Voltage (ELV) systems consisting of Power Management System (PMS), Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) , Fire Alarm Systems (FAS), Distributed Control System (DCS) and Plant Monitoring System (PMonS).
4) Operate and maintain the site Fire Alarm system and all its components.
5) Prepare and manage all spare parts required for the maintenance of the Equipment and related assets.
6) Support the Head of Maintenance in the preparation of maintenance strategies to reduce failure rates of equipment and improve maintenance KPIs.
7) Prepare RCA reports and provide Head of Maintenance with proposals for preventing repeat failures and ensuring lessons learned.
8) Prepare scopes of work and tender documentation for sub-contractors.
9) Supervise sub-contractors and ensure compliance with scope of work.
10) Lead and supervise maintenance technicians.
11) Prepare risk assessments and apply required permits.
12) Maintain maintenance records.
13) Coordinate with relevant authorities and obtain approvals for any changes to systems and structures.
14) Communicate upwards – training needs, process improvement suggestions and follow up on implementation.
15) Schedule and prioritize work considering all available resources.

19) Follow all safety procedures and report lapses, if any. Monitors yard facilities and reports to the Head of Maintenance, where necessary.
20) Takes corrective action on errors as defined in the IMS, as necessary.
21) Achieves Performance Indicators as defined in the Nakilat-Keppel Shipyard Quality Policy and Objectives Matrix.
22) Maintains the SAP Module is maintained according to the schedule.
23) Implements and monitors compliance to department budgets and raises any requirement to deviate from them.
24) Monitors approved sub-contractors.
25) Demonstrates leadership at a monthly section review meeting.
26) Supports execution of daily operations, making sure maintenance plans are met.
27) Contribute with timely updates and inputs such as lead and lag indication data to inform stakeholders to support internal decision making and performance review processes.
28) Model a collaborative and cross-organizational relationship within and between maintenance and operations and support functions to ensure alignment to desired high performance culture.
29) Drive a safety culture within the team through role modelling safety values and behaviors. Ensure compliance with health, safety, security and environment standards.
30) Ensure achievement of key performance indicators & address performance issues.

31) Apply skills, knowledge, and ability to ensure people and resources enable production throughput rate to be safely achievable in line with Section Plan and KPIs in line with N-KOM Values and IMS system.
32) Drive high quality standards in the department to ensure all employees compliance to deliver high quality services and products and achieve customer satisfaction.
33) Performs any other assigned duties and responsibilities.

Purpose: Engage in direct dialogue to manage direct equipment interactions between workshops, ports and vessels

Qualifications, Experience and Job Skills
Qualifications:
• A Degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Certificate of Competency (Marine Engineer Officer) Class 1 (Motorship), or its equivalent.
Experience:
• 10 years of relevant working experience in the industry.
